I got my Corsa as a really solid basket case from Dale Dewald of Michigan. He'd bought it from the second owner who had parked it in a barn for many many years(probably around 35). The car had an engine fire in what I guess to be 1969, as that is the last inspection sticker. It was parked after that, and was never driven again til i got it...so you could almost say the middle two owners didn't count because neither of them did anything to the car (except for take the entire turbo and shroud off the engine, which was frozen solid)
I spent a good few years working on the car off and on, trying to do as good of a restoration to driving material as I could. Following is a list of the things that have been done to this car.
New clutch, including heavy duty rebuilt clutch disc, pilot bushing/bearing, bellhousing seal
Bolted Flywheel
Rebuilt Carbs (by me)
Painted Shroud
Patch in passenger side floor
3 coats of POR-15 on floor
Painted Corsa Inst. panel
Cleaned Bellhousing
New pan gasket(came with the clutch kit)
2 coats of POR-15 in engine bay
New Motor mount
Installed NOS main Body wiring harness
Various body work(removing more bondo than I've ever seen in one place on a vehicle in my life, over a really rough brazing job that someone did 35 years ago)
New Heavy duty U-joints
New Pre-bent Long fuel line
Pre-bent brake line set, new wheel cylinders, turned drums, new shoes, new springs, new Dual M/C conversion.
Spanky new Engine Compartment Harness
Alternator(63 amp)
Starter rebuilt professionally
New Battery Cables
T block and pipe from fuel pump to lines
New Clutch Cable
New Fuel Pump
Spark Plugs (Bosch W8AC)
Voltage Regulator (twice!)
Neon Blue Plug wires from Mr. Seth Emerson ( I recommend them...but then, so do most of us!)
Battery
Rebuilt Harmonic Balancer from Larry's Corvair Parts
Serrated Oil Pan Bolts
New Sway bar bushings
Painted gas tank with rustoleum
Reapinted car with rattle can primer and Keystone Automotive single stage 2k 2002 GM yellow
New Cragar "Soft 8" rims from Jegs, with Uniroyal Touring Traks (that I don't recommend.)
Pertronix One with Crane HO coil
NOS Delco heater motor
Toyota Celica bucket seats
custom cut carpet fitted by myself and Richard Leslie
I'll add more later.
